Thriving Together

Supporting stronger communities

Longleigh Foundation aims to work alongside social housing tenants to understand what support is needed in their local area. We seek to bring local funders together to help strengthen the community support available in the neighbourhoods where tenants live.

Projects That Made A Difference

A Look Back At Our Work In Communities

Over the years, Longleigh Foundation has supported a range of projects aimed at strengthening communities and improving lives. Here’s a selection of past projects we’re proud to have been part of.

Afghan resettlement support

We provided grants of up to £1,000 and access to wellbeing support for Stonewater residents arriving through the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme.

This helped families and individuals settle safely, purchase essentials and access translation and one-to-one support where needed.

Justlife – social connection project

We funded Justlife to support people living in temporary accommodation in Brighton & Hove. The project reduced isolation by offering creative activities, peer connection and regular check-ins.

During lockdown, the team adapted quickly, moving to digital workshops, weekly calls and practical support.

Alcohol Education Trust

Our funding helped the Alcohol Education Trust extend its work with 18 to 25-year-olds, including support on combined alcohol and cannabis use.

The team adapted resources for online delivery, developed new workshops and strengthened community networks through shared learning.

Future aspirations

We want to grow our community investment work through small, targeted pilots. We will work with social housing tenants and communities to test what makes the most difference in their neighbourhoods.

We are particularly interested in strengthening community support, such as projects that help tenants maximise income, reduce costs, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for community connection.

We are keen to work in partnership with other local funders to maximise the impact of our grant making.
