We are delighted to introduce Aileen Edmunds as our new Chief Executive.
Aileen joins Longleigh from Trafford Housing Trust (now acquired by L&Q) where she set up a multi-million pound Foundation. She has more than 15 years’ experience in the charity sector specialising in service design, fundraising and leadership in causes from homelessness to international development, alongside board experience across multiple anti-poverty organisations.
Aileen said: “I am honoured to be joining Longleigh Foundation at such a critical time for both the social housing sector and the need for anti-poverty work. It is a true privilege to have the opportunity to lead such a values-driven and ambitious organisation and I am thrilled to join the talented team. I am determined to build on the social impact Longleigh has achieved to date, knowing that our communities and customers need support more than ever.”
Fiona Ellison, Chair of Trustees, said: “I am delighted that Aileen is joining Longleigh Foundation as our new Chief Executive. She brings a wonderful grounding in the social housing sector and has firsthand experience of the impact grant making support can have to transform lives.”
Longleigh Foundation is uniquely placed to lead the social housing sector in its response to creating opportunities for residents to thrive – covering the entire scope of UK anti-poverty response – from researching innovative solutions and building communities of support to funding essential services, along with grants to individuals.
Passionate about combatting poverty and inequality, Aileen has dedicated her career to making a difference. Outside of work you will most likely find her scrambling up a hill in walking boots with her dog, Mabel.
