Richard is a finance and governance leader with over 25 years’ experience across public, private, and charitable sectors. He brings deep expertise in strategic financial planning, risk management, and organisational transformation, alongside a lifelong commitment to social justice.

Having grown up in social housing, Richard’s lived experience informs his empathetic and inclusive approach to leadership. He has held senior roles in housing and local government, including at Southwark, RBKC, Bury Council, and South Tyneside Homes, where he currently serves as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee.

Richard has supported councils and housing organisations through complex transitions, including post-Grenfell recovery, ALMO reintegration, and regulatory reform. His work focuses on aligning financial resilience with community impact, and he is passionate about amplifying resident voice and driving systemic change.

He also brings board-level experience from the legal and property sectors, and has led cross-sector initiatives in talent planning, customer service, and social investment. Richard is proud to support Longleigh’s mission to create lasting opportunities for people living in social housing.
