We are incredibly honoured to announce that Longleigh has won the ‘Commercial Collaboration of the Year’ award at the Association of Charitable Organisations (ACO) 2024 Annual Awards. Achieving this award recognises our partnership with Altair on pioneering research into the impact of inadequate floor coverings in social housing.

The research

The research, developed in collaboration with Altair Ltd, highlighted the significant effects that poor flooring can have on social housing tenants’ wellbeing. Our report not only looked at the challenges faced by residents but also provided practical tools for social landlords, helping them pilot changes to improve housing standards. The ultimate aim is to drive meaningful change in the sector, addressing an often overlooked issue that directly affects the quality of life for thousands of residents.

Thank you

We extend a big thank you to our steering group for their guidance and expertise throughout the project. Their support helped to shape the research and ensured that its findings would lead to actionable outcomes.

We also want to give a huge thank you to the team at Altair Ltd, particularly Anne-Marie Bancroft, Bekah Ryder, and Michael Appleby, whose passion for the project shone through at every stage. The team effort between Longleigh and Altair has been truly exceptional, as we’re both committed to improving social housing standards through socially driven work and advocacy.

A win for one is a win for all

Lastly, we congratulate all the other outstanding organisations that were shortlisted and won at this year’s ACO awards. This is not just a victory for us, but for everyone striving to improve housing conditions and the wellbeing of social housing residents. We are proud to have been part of a project that will, hopefully, lead to lasting change across the sector.

This award is a shared achievement, and we look forward to seeing the impact this research will have as social housing providers begin to implement these changes. Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this project a success.
